The Center is closed unless you have lost someone to the opioid epidemic and wish to participate in the following focus group.
We are hoping to start a bereavement group at the NRC. To that end, Franklin Cook, a consultant for the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services who specializes in peer support for people who are bereaved by a death from substance use, is working on a pilot project that is exploring what the experiences and needs are of family members who have a lost a loved one because of addiction.
He is going to be in Northampton on Tuesday, January 15, and he would like to meet with a small group of people who have survived this kind of tragedy in order to hear their stories and learn firsthand what has happened to them in the aftermath of their loss.
We're going to gather at 6 pm and have some pizza for dinner and enter into a conversation on this tough topic in as comfortable and as safe of an environment as we can create. We will finish by 7:30pm.
The NRC is located at 2 Gleason Plaza in Northampton.
